UPDATE ON TRENCHES AT THE GREAT KINGS AND QUEENS CHILDREN’S CENTER
JANUARY 2020

During ASA board member Pauline Greenlick’s trip to Uganda, she visited the Great Kings and Queens Children’s Center. The photos above show the trenches that were constructed near the Centre, thanks to grant money from the ASA Social Fund.

Pauline’s visit took place during a fierce torrential storm that sent torrents of water down the mud roads. Thanks to the new trenches the school has not been flooded. In the past, the rains would flow into the school and flood the school yard. Last June rains and floods undermined the hill in the school yard and collapsed the latrines. Last year ASA Social Fund also constructed new latrines after the old ones collapsed, and also helped construct walls to the new school offices. Many thanks to Medi for managing these construction projects.
